1. How do I get my results?
An email will be sent to the account you set up during registration, notifying you to log into your account to view your results letter and images.
2. Can I sign up for any screening or does it have to be at my child’s school?
Screenings take place during the school day to make it more convenient for parents. If you don’t see your school listed or the screening date has passed, you can register at an alternative location. Please call us at 866-382-2319 if you do this so we can notify the other school of your participation. You can also let us know by emailing your child’s name and reservation code to: information@mcorefoundation.org. On the day of your screening please sign in at the school’s main office as a visitor.
3. What do I do if there’s an abnormality?
If your results letter and images indicate an abnormality, consult your primary care doctor and a pediatric cardiologist. If you have any questions, please email us at information@mcorefoundation.org.
4. How much does the screening cost?
MCORE Foundation provides high quality preventative cardiac screenings (with a value of $2500 in a clinical setting) for a donation of only $79. Often, our partners’ contributions bring the donation amount even lower, with some screenings requiring no donation at all. The screening consists of an ECG and limited echocardiogram with image storage.
5. Is the screening covered by insurance?
While the cost of preventative cardiac screenings isn’t currently covered by insurance, you can use a flex spending, HSA or wellness account to pay for your screening. If you need a detailed receipt, please request one by emailing your confirmation number to: information@mcorefoundation.org
6. I don’t see my child’s school listed as participating in a screening program; how do we bring a heart screening to our community or school?
Contact your school administration to inform them that our education and preventative screening programs are available regardless of ability to pay. We can work with your community to provide our services.

8. Are these tests provided at my doctor’s office or via a sports physical?
ECG and echo screenings aren’t typically provided during routine doctor visits or sports physicals; however, we do partner with several health-focused groups to provide our services.
9. How do I get a receipt?

10. Does my child need to be re-screened if their results were normal? What are the recommendations on frequency of screenings?
The American Heart Association and American Academy of Pediatrics recommend screenings every two years from ages 12-22.
