MCORE Foundation’s mission is to provide education, screenings and enable research for sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) for children and young adults. Because many people don’t associate SCA with kids, creating awareness will help save young lives.
Our funding comes from a nominal donation per screening, grants, fundraising events, and corporate partnerships. As a non-profit organization, screening donations are re-invested so we can continue to serve all populations. Any family that wants to participate in these lifesaving screenings can, regardless of ability to pay.

Legislation
We work with the media, state legislators, foundations and sports teams to raise awareness among coaches, parents and communities, and so can you. We’re proud to be a part of the NFL coalition to raise awareness and pass legislation related to cardiac emergencies. #GetInvolved #SaveaLife
Heart of a Champion
Our annual major fundraising event, Heart of a Champion is a strolling food and wine event, where guests can sample signature dishes and wine from more than 20 restaurants and wine distributors. Live music and a silent auction round out this always fabulous evening. The event is held in late August or early September in Columbus, Ohio. Student Ambassadors
Demonstrate your leadership skills by bringing a screening to your school! We’ve had students do this as part of a school or community service project. Or, if there’s a screening already scheduled at your school, put together a peer-to-peer campaign to encourage other students to register. Have fun and make a contest out of it. Lindsay’s Law
Senate Bill 252 is named for national heart health advocate and former Miss Ohio Lindsay Davis, who suffers from a heart condition and has since dedicated her career to raising awareness of this potentially fatal condition. This bill was the impetus for additional states to pass similar legislation. We are honored to have Lindsay as a member of the MCORE Foundation Board.
